Wow, so it's been like... ages since I last updated this thing... well, a lot's been going on!

So, I joined the Navy. Right now, I'm set to ship out next June as a Corpsman, which I don't want to do, so I have to go take the DLAB, which is a language aptitude test and then if I qualify I'll be able to renegotiate my contract into being a cryptologist. It'll be awesome! I'm super psyched but at the same time I'm so so nervous. I just know that if I can survive boot camp, I can do anything.

I just got back from a weekend trip to the Bay Area. I went by myself, so it was my first long distance trip alone, which was cool but a little nerve-racking at times. On Saturday morning, I left Paradise for San Jose to visit old, old family friends and pick up a new computer they had for my dad. I spent a few hours with them before I left San Jose for San Bruno, which is about 45 minutes north. I got to San Bruno about ten minutes before Michaela (my best friend that I was supposed to stay with) and her brother got back from grocery shopping. San Bruno's funny because it was like 90 degrees in Paradise AND San Jose, but it was like 60 in San Bruno. I drove into the fog and I watched it roll down and envelop me. It was awesome! So, I spent the night in San Bruno and then on Sunday, Michaela and I went back to San Jose to visit my bestest friend that I've had since preschool. We spent the afternoon with her swimming and then I took Michaela to see my old elementary school and my old house. It was kind of sad on my part because I loved that house so much. So anyway, we got something to eat and then headed back up to San Bruno. When we got back to Michaela's house, we hung out for a little while longer before I had to leave to head back home. I didn't want to pay the toll going over the bay bridge so I decided to go over the Golden Gate Bridge for the first time. I drove through San Francisco for the first time, which was pretty awesome, as was the Bridge. I've always loved the Bay Area, and it was wonderful to get to drive through it all. Overall, my driving time was about nine hours, which sucked royally, but I got to listen to some good music and I got to see some really good friends. I hope to be able to do it again soon. Lord knows I miss that place.

I have some new material to post... I've been away from dA for quite a while, just because I had other things consuming my life. Hopefully, I'll be able to spend a little bit of time here in the future!
